In Memory Of 911
Comes now the day when innocence was lost,
We remember the day, forget not the cost,
Of innocent people gone almost a year,
We think of them now, and still shed a tear.
Thousands of families trying to cope,
With consuming grief and very little hope,
Relentlessly looking for answers to find,
Seeking so hard to find peace of mind.
Husbands and wives gone now forever,
Sad thoughts of them impossible to sever.
Never forgotten our memories linger on,
What happened that day, and how it went wrong
In bright morning sun there appeared in the sky,
A plane off its course, soon thousands would die.
Not knowing at first this was no accident,
But a mission in progress by terrorists hell bent.
The Twin Towers loomed, and they were the goal,
Of those who were lacking, both heart and a soul,
Obvious that soon they would forcefully impact,
No time for action, no way to turn back.
Joined by a second plane, shortly thereafter,
Adding to the book of life, yet one more chapter.
And fire and smoke filled the sky all around,
While panic set in for those still on the ground.
The brave and courageous appeared everywhere,
Even giving their lives, to show that they cared.
And soon it was heard, as the morning wore on,
Another hit made, this time the Pentagon.
And if not for brave souls, in the skies over PA,
Who tried and prevented, another target that day.
They took up the challenge and answered the call,
Their reward is in Heaven, as they too, gave their all.
And so it is true, that well always remember,
Each fall that comes round, the 11th of September.
And pause for a minute to utter a prayer
Remembering those gone and showing we care.

I am sad The sun may be shining But my world has gone black The sky may be blue But my eyes sting from
smoke The clouds may be fluffy But my feet kick at rubble The grass may be green But my hands sift ash
I am sad

For us all a day of mourning For us all a day of fear For us all a day of loss For us all a day
of anger For us all a day of rememberance

The world is smaller today The world is less today The world weeps today The world learns today

With a glass of milk, a bowl of cereal, starting my day, I turn on my television. I cant believe what I am
seeing, It must be scenes from a new action movie..... Planes crashing into buildings.... Fire, and
more fire. Black specks falling from windows, Oh my God, they are people.... Falling and crashing
buildings, screams, and more screams. Run, run, run, escape....from the explosion of falling debris.
I recite the Lords prayer...for strength. I hear a firefighter, tell a reporter to tell his wife Maria
that he was okay.... but a voice in the background echoes, "We cant reach them," "They
are all gone, they've all been wiped out.." Then I knew....so many would be dead, Hope is truly lost.
Where was Gods voice today? I think of those who got up this morning, to the smell of coffee,
a bagel, or full course breakfast; with a kiss from loved ones. They leave to be wage slaves of the tower;
only to be destroyed by fire, concrete and steel. I am grieved to think of those who must carry-on. Put
up the upper stiff lip, yet survive without..... Where was Gods voice today? I pray for those men and
women who wear a badge, and receive bad press for being asked to do an impossible job we scream outrage,
for arresting our children, hassling people, or committing police brutality... Yet on this day, they sacrificed
bravely, serving and protecting...giving of themselves selflessly; only to meet a an end with fire and brimstone.
Where was Gods voice today? In my minds eye, I can only imagine, what the end meant for those
on the planes. Did they realize the end was near? From the cell phone calls from passengers, their
final thoughts were of family.... Love of family, a true virtue, true heroism... Where was Gods voice today?
Is there a God, is there a heaven or hell, I am left to wonder? Are we in hell? Has the world
come to an end? I remember the bible prophecies of Revelations. Where is Gods voice today?

A Rescuer's Prayer Lord we're not here to be a hero or to be seen or t.v. we're here to serve a purpose to
save a human being. A mist the death and destruction give us strength to carry on. Let the light of your
love shine as the whole country mourns. Give our ears the sensitivity to hear the faintest sound give us
courage to keep going until the last person is found. Even though we know so many precious lives were lost we
will bring the home to their loved ones no matter what the cost. The walls may crash in around us and the skies
may turn deathly gray But we will go back to ground zero......another day. ~ Angela Kaye Boyce ~

Twin Towers stood proud, amongst the buildings of the city, Dignified, symbol of strength, Graced by the sunlight,
shone brightly, Reflections of freedom. Then one day, the Twin Towers no longer were, Down they came, to the
earth that held them up so high. Innocent as the lives that are gone, Never to be witnessed again, Only in
the memories of one's mind Hearts broken, saddened ath the loss, Nations watched, as if frozen in time, The
Twin Towers that stood so proud, Dignified, symbol of strength Graced by the sunlight, no longer bright Clouds
of dust filled the air, The hearts of all felt the pain of innocence gone, Never to be recaptured, except in the
reflection of the mind The Twin Towers that stood as proud, Dignified, symbols of strength, In the midst of
tragedy, Nations came together in strength, Courage in the lives of human need, To reach out in prayer of
peace, In the saddened , broken hearts, United by the pain. For in time, the Twin Towers will rise But
the hearts of mankind will never Forget the innocence that was lost, That bright day of September 11, 2001 When
the Twin Towers stood so tall, Dignified, symbols of strength Shining brightly in the sunlight, Reflections
of freedom. ~ Composed by Frankie Swerda

Remember Me The nights are short, The days are long, But life must still go on. I will cherish the times
we had together, and keep them in my heart forever. We had some good times even some bad, I can remember making
each other mad. I wish we would have had more time together, But always remember I'll be here forever. When
you need me I'll be here, you will not see me but I'll be near. Just close your eyes and picture me, That's
when I'm holding you can't you see. When you need me to talk to, Just sit down I'm always right above you. I
may be listening from way up high, but I'll always here ever whisper and every cry. I know my face and laughter
is gone, But my memories and sprit will live on. I know this isn't how we wanted it to be. I'm sorry. PLEASE
DON'T EVER FORGET ME! I dedicate this to the men and women who lost their lives 9-11-01 ~ Kellie Hamlin

September 11th, 2001 September 11, the year 2001 A day of tragedy in the golden sun Not just one
life was shattered and torn Thousands no longer will be as when born Our country, a place we can be free
Was shattered and torn for all to see Frozen in time, planes crashing, a total of four Taking lives, heroes,
and just folks, forever more But we are Americans and will fight back Against this evil and horrendous act
No one can bury or kill our Nation so strong We will rebuild, in steel, concrete and with song. You
can't take us down, from land or flights above We are Americans and will defend this land we love. So while
we mourn and pray for lives lost For heroes trying to save others no matter the cost We will rebound and remember
to fear us, yes you must Because we are Americans on our land and In God we Trust. By Pat M September

GOD BLESS AMERICA God Bless America, Land that I love. Stand beside her, And guide her Through
the night with a light from above. From the mountains, To the prairies, To the oceans, White
with foam, God bless America, My home sweet home. God bless America, My home sweet home!
by Irving Berlin

Our Friends Where, oh where, have our friends gone? Tragedies have come to our great land. Towers and
offices have been destroyed by villains; unknown and known by investigative teams. We must all continue to sing
our songs; patriotic to our great nation! America is down--she will get up. Our friends have gone to higher
ground, our lives are forever changed! God is our guide -- we'll survive. Our friends, in heart, are very
much alive! We will always cherish and remember the dearly departed; For, they are our friends now and forever!

We recently received an email from Patricia Welch asking us to provide
a link to her song entitled "United We Stand." . This is not only a very moving tribute song, it is an encouragement and inspiration
to all Americans! It is also unusual for such a noteworthy artist to contact a website directly to ask that a link to their
tribute be included. Pictured above with former President Bill Clinton, Patricia performed many musical theater roles including
Maria in "The Sound of Music," Marsinah in "Kismet," Hodel in "Fiddler On The Roof," and received rave reviews for her outstanding
performance as Maria in "West Side Story." She starred with the late Yul Brynner in the role of Tuptim on Broadway in the
famous musical "The King and I". Patricia had the honor of singing the National Anthem and "America The Beautiful" on two
separate occasions for former President Clinton, former President Ford, and General Schwarzkopf. Following the tragedy
of September 11th, Patricia and her husband, Pete DuBarry, wrote a patriotic song entitled "United We Stand". They hope it
will be a source of encouragement to all of those who have been affected by that tragedy. We feel they have more than reached
that goal, for the benefit of the Deaf Community and as an inspiration to everyone we have included the lyrics on our lyrics
page, we strongly encourage you to spend some time visiting her website by clicking the image above.

Above, and below, is the book by Loree O'Neil who penned the wonderful tribute poem "In Memory of 911" that we have displayed
to the left. Here is a little about her, in her own words.....
I published my first book of my original poetry in February of this year. Had to do a second
printing in June:-) I have shipped it to such places as Canada, Puerto Rico, Holland, England, Australia, Argentina,
and coast to coast in the US. It is only available from me, so I am doing all the merchandising myself...no easy task...LOL
It is being used next semester, as a 'teaching' tool, at Southwestern College, here in Winfield,
Kansas where I live. I have also gotten it into many of the school district libraries, and public libraries in Kansas.
I had no idea what an 'undertaking' it was going to be, when I did the book. It turned out beautifully, very professional
looking. It is a paperback, with laminated cover, and contains 53 of my first poems (I have since written many, many
more!).
I am 66 years old, and have advanced macular degeneration, and have no idea of how much 'time' I
have left, to be able to see.
I only started writing about 14 months ago, and it has been a 'whirlwind' ever since:-)
Thought maybe you would appreciate a little 'background' on me...LOL
If you wish to contact Loree you may do so directly by emailing her at
loree@hit.net , she will be pleased to give you all the details and any information that you
want to know. We understand the book is still available at this time....cover price is $6.95 plus S & H.....
The above picture is of Loree O'Neil who wrote the poem "In memory of 911" that we have been able to bring to you with
her kind consent.

The Colors Of Our Nation Red, White and Blue That is the color of Me and You All together we stand
Side by side, hand in hand As the whole nation is in dismay Together let us all pray Pray for the ones
we have lost Pray for the friends and families it has cost Pray for the ones who are still alive today Pray
that all the pain will go away Red, White and Blue That is the color of Me and You Let us raise our FLAG
into the sky Together as one let us keep our heads held high United together as we stand We will fight for
our land For as together united as one We will never forget what has been done We will seek deep in our hearts
Courage, Faith and Love to start Start to protect our land and loved ones United together we will see that
justice is done We will fight for all we love And pray to the good Lord above Red, White and Blue That
is the color of Me and You All together we stand Raise our FLAG and reach for a hand Hold tight, don't let
go For we still have pride to show God bless us all And we promise one another we will not fall. ~

I'm Just an American- I'm the little boy that gives up his favorite teddy bear so that a stranger may be comforted.
I'm the single mother who has been trying to teach her child to sleep in their own bed, who holds them tight long
into the night, thanking God it wasn't her child that died. I'm the old man, angry and resentful that his military
doesn't want him because of his age. I'm the teenaged girl that spends hours cutting ribbons for others to wear as
a symbol of remembrance. I'm the young man who doesn't understand why his father was running up the stairs as the
building fell, trying to save just one more person, instead of saving himself. I'm the old woman who will never see
her grandchild again. I'm the little girl, playing with her doll, who can't understand when someone screams hateful
things at her because of where her family is from. I'm the police officer, trying to keep idiotic reporters safe
when his wife is still among the missing. I'm the fire fighter that called in sick that day, only to discover that
someone else died in his place. I'm the man who survived the falling building only to learn that his sister and baby
niece were in the plane. I'm the secretary, angered by the seemingly callous response of those around her. I'm
a spelunker, who is climbing down into the remains of a building, hoping to find someone still alive. I'm the dog
handler, searching for bodies, that has to comfort my animal when only death remains. I'm the woman who stands in
line for five hours in order to give blood, hoping to help strangers in need. I'm the man who gets up and goes to
work every day, in spite of the tragedy because he still has a family to feed. I'm the first passenger to get back
on a plane even though I'm terrified because I know somebody has to be first. Who am I? I'm nobody special. I'm
just an American!

Message from The American Eagle Lord knows I am peaceful when I'm left alone; I've always been an eagle,
been a while since I have flown. My claws are sharp as ever, so's my eagle eye. Something's gonna
go to ground, when the eagle flies. Lately I've heard rumors that the eagle may be lame Just because
I've been idle don't mean that I'm tame. You've jeopardized my freedom, my natural place to roost; I
can fly if I have to, they've turn the eagle loose. So lay all your doubts aside, when you go to bed tonight.
My feathers are all ruffled and I'm ready for a fight. Just because I took a while to fly don't mean
I don't care. When you feel the shadow crossing, the eagle's in the air. So lay all your doubts aside,
when you go to bed tonight. My feathers are all ruffled and I'm ready for a fight. Just because I
took a while to fly don't mean I don't care When you feel the shadow crossing, the eagle's in the air.
When you feel the shadow crossing, the eagle's in the air.

! Possibilities ! When your dreams start to seem so impossible, when roadblocks are all you can see,
look beyond all the problems that face you and focus on possibilities. Dont limit your thoughts
to the present or solutions you have learned from the past. Remember to keep looking forward - you may find
the answer at last. It is you who determines your future; how your journey through tomorrow will be.
To fill all your days with adventure, dare to see what no one else dares to see. So never let obstacles
stop you or keep you from doing your part. Have faith that your dreams are all possible, if you truly believe
in your heart.

A PICTURE OF PEACE: There once was a King who offered a prize to the artist who would paint the best
picture of peace. Many artists tried. The King looked at all the pictures, but there were only two he really
liked and he had to choose between them. One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect
mirror, for peaceful towering mountains were all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds.
All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect picture of peace. The other picture had mountains
too. But these were rugged and bare. Above was an angry sky from which rain fell and in which lightening played.
Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all. But when the King
looked, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird
had built her nest. There, in the midst of the rush of angry water, sat the mother bird on her nest... perfect
peace. Which picture do you think won the prize? The King chose the second picture. Do you know
why? "Because," explained the King, "peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise,
trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That
is the real meaning of peace."

The day after the attacks a teacher asked her class to draw what the attacks meant to them and this is what one of the students
drew....

In Memory Of All Victims
To all those whose lives who couldn't go on. To all those lost loved ones that are gone. September 11th was a
tragic day that tore us apart, But it also united all of our hearts.
That day was a horrible day in history. Everyone was caused so much misery! As planes crashed into the WTC towers, There
were added graves with flowers.
People ran, screams piercing the sky and air. Everyone was trying to hide their fear. As smoke filled up the sky,
dark and fierce, Everyone covered their eyes and ears.
You see, life is terrible when events like this occur. But the memories will always be clear, never a blur. There
is a dark reason in each of those terrorists' hearts. Which we hope they will not impart.
One tiny thing that can ruin a people, a world, a place, One tiny thing that can ruin a race. Those terrorists
had a concealed look. But this disaster we can't overlook.
That little thought is born like a child, It starts growing, very slowly and very mild. Next, it coils, ravels,
unravels, Turns, grows, spirals, and travels.
It grows into a feeling, one that is called hate. It gave all those poor people an unthinkable fate. It grows very
powerful, hate is a fierce and evil word, It holds onto your heart, how absurd!
Why should evil never let go? It only causes you more misery blow by blow. Just treat everyone with respect and
courtesy, Then you will have friends for history.
" I know sadness very well, But the worst sadness that I can tell, Is the sadness that comes with a coffin. I
hope it doesn't knock on my doors often."
I hope my tears will never again flood like on September 11, 2001. Karina Grudnikova...Age 13.

Two Thousand One, Nine Eleven By Paul Spreadbury Two thousand one, nine eleven, Five thousand plus arrive
in heaven. As they pass through the gate, Thousands more appear in wait. A bearded man with stovepipe
hat Steps forward saying, "Lets sit, lets chat." As they settle down in seats of clouds, A
man named Martin shouts out proud, "I have a dream!" and once he did The Newcomer said, "Your dream
still lives." Groups of soldiers in blue and gray, Others in khaki, and green then say, "We're
from Bull Run, Yorktown, the Maine" The Newcomer said, "You died not in vain." From a man on
sticks one could hear, "The only thing we have to fear... The Newcomer said, "We know the rest, trust
us sir, we've passed that test." "Courage doesn't hide in caves, You can't bury freedom, in a grave."
The Newcomers had heard this voice before In a distinct Yankees twang from Hyannisport shores. A silence
fell within the mist, Somehow a Newcomer knew that this Meant time had come for her to say What was in the
hearts of the five thousand plus that day. "Back on Earth, we wrote reports, Watched our children play
in sports. Worked our gardens, sang our songs, Went to church and clipped coupons. We smiled, we laughed,
we cried, we fought Unlike you, great we're not." The tall man in the stovepipe hat, Stood and said,
"Don't talk like that! Look at your country, look and see You died for freedom, just like me."
Then, before them all appeared a scene, Of rubbled streets and twisted beams. Death, destruction, smoke and
dust, And people working just 'cause they must. Hauling ash, lifting stones, Knee deep in hell, But not
alone. "Look! Blackman, Whitman, Brownian, fellowman Side by side helping their fellow man!" So
said Martin, as he watched the scene, "Even from nightmares, can be born a dream." Down below three
firemen raised, The colors high into ashen haze. The soldiers above had seen it before, On Iwo Jima back in
'44. The man on sticks studied everything closely, Then shared his perceptions on what he saw mostly. "I
see pain, I see tears, I see sorrow -- but I don't see fear." "You left behind husbands and wives,
Daughters and sons and so many lives. They are suffering now because of this wrong, But look very closely,
you're not really gone. All of those people, even those who've never met you, All of their lives, they'll
never forget you. Don't you see what has happened? Don't you see what you've done? You've brought them together,
together as one." With that the man in the stovepipe hat said, "Take my hand," and from there
he led five thousand plus heroes, Newcomers to heaven, On this day, two thousand one, nine eleven.

What a blessing! God bless and protect our President and his family. 30 September 2001 Hello Dear
Friends, I heard such a wonderful thing at church today that I knew I would have to share it with you all. Most of
you already know our pastor is Max Lucado, a Christian author, who is very popular for his many wonderful books about the
Lord. This week, Max was invited to have lunch at the White House (along with several other famous preachers) with
President Bush. Their meeting took place on Thursday and Max shared with us this morning how it had gone. As the
ministers sat down to lunch and waited for President Bush to appear,Max said he was expecting G.W. to walk in the room looking
tired, serious, and depressed. When the President came in, Max said he looked totally the opposite...he was energetic, joyful,
and very focused on his talk with the ministers. Max asked President Bush how he could seem so peaceful and calm
in the midst of all the tragedy. The President's reply was, "I'm feeling stronger now than I've ever been in
my life. And the reason is people in America are praying for me. When I stay on my knees, that is when I have power."
The ministers then asked the President how he would like them to pray for him, and how their congregations back home
may be praying. First, Mr. Bush asked for clarity of mind, so he makes wise decisions, then he asked that we pray specifically
for his wife and two daughters, as he is very concerned about their safety. I knew you would be as encouraged, as
I was, to hear about this meeting. We must thank God we have a President who loves and fears the Lord. No human
leader is perfect, but God is perfect, so let us keep President Bush lifted up in prayer before the Father. Mary
Pat Raynor Soon to be NSD "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5,6

These poems were written by a member of St John's Ambulance Brigade in Wales, U.K. This verse is dedicated to all
emergency workers past present and future both paid and unpaid . A cry goes out for help, Over land sea and
air, People trapped and hurt, Out of homes and other places, People fly to help, Lights flashing, sirens
wailing, Get out of the way !!!!! To save a life is our wish, Facing death in it's face, Not once, but
many times, Never knowing what we will see or find, Brave are the people helping others regardless of creed or
colour, A life save that is our reward. Who are we, the brave people, risking our own lives ?? The emergency
services who serve all over the world. ************************** A wish for the World.
Dark is the night, upon the world, Sky diamonds shine, upon the world, Now as always, giving light and hope, From
beginning to the end. Dark are houses of this world, Upon a winter night, Coloured lights shine and twinkle,
Giving cheer and hope. As a sprit crosses the world, Touching everyone, regardless of creed and colour, Bringing
good cheer, hope and wishes, From the beginning to the , it has always been and will be so, Once a year this
happens, all over the world, In many cultures, I wish it would last all year round, So a Merry Christmas and a
Happy new year to all.

Poem Written By Andy Burns September 12th 2001
At six years old I thought the world, Was only made for boys and girls I'd leave my door and run and play, For I was
safe from day to day At sixteen years times still were good, Looking forward as I should To days when I would find a
wife, To having kids and lead my life At twenty five my kids were born, Into a world becoming torn Violence here, another
war there, Sometimes it was so much to bear At thirty five things haven't changed, The wars go on the violence stays At
fifty years my kids have grown, They don't have kids they aren't alone They know the time is just not right, When the world
is safe well then they might I've reached the age of fifty one With Grace and Ruth each day is fun Until that
dark September day When tragedy hit the USA I looked upon my TV screen What I saw was it real I saw the tears and voices
I heard, Their cries were like a shrieking bird I saw the second plane appear, My heart it sank I saw it veer From its
path it hurtled fast, Oh please my god let it go past My words they fell upon deaf ears, And then it hit I
saw the tears I then saw the buildings fall, Crumbling down on one and all The toughest man his child in arms, His hands
protecting it from harm I've searched my mind for reasons why, The more I search the more I cry For that proud land
across the sea, Will never fall as you will see We grieve for them across the world ,All four corners of this earth Their
people are a special breed, They will find out who did this deed Their enemies who did this crime, Will very soon find
out in time Where will they run, hide underground, I tell you this they will be found The country that you thought
you broke, It only slept and has now awoke Mothers cry and fathers pray, But soon it will be judgment day You dance
in streets and sing your songs, Then make it last it wont be long There's no escape no year no day, America is on its
way

The Day The World Cried As we watch in awe on our television screen, Scenes like from movies, but are real
and unforeseen, Evil minds and cowards had planned this unthinkable terrorist attack, Now must face the consequences
of a fierce and powerful world pact, New York and Washington are in minds as the globe holds hands in prayer,
For a multitude of souls and lives touched that now feel bare, Ordinary people just like you and me, Toiling
to reach the innocent under a metal sea, God now takes the souls under his loving wing,to show them blissful
heaven and many wonderful things, So dearly loved and so sadly missed, anything would be given to have them back from
heavenly bliss. As we feel the sorrow and pain, So many lives of innocence lost, but not in vein, For
goodness and humanity will once again overpower and hold reign. Donna, Queensland, Australia

I believe I am flying With the wings of the angels That my fathers won With the force of their prayers.
Since the beginning they fought With faith and passion For the freedom of their sons For the
peace and the compassion. Today my strong wings Has being hurt with great anger But my eagle eyes
are turn To my God who is in Heaven My voice is raising the pray Of the humble faithful fighter:
"You're coming against me with a sword But I am coming to you in the name of my Lord." You
can touch my body But never my heart Which belongs to the ones That practice freedom in your behalf.
I am the chain of union I am the state of life I am the rock of freedom I am America to all mankind.
It's time for union; its time to give love even to our enemies and show them that our best ally is the God of
Mercy! Dedicated to those who gave their lives to save the victims of these tragedies and to those who lost their
lives living their freedom! ~ Mags Ortiz ~

MY COUNTRY TEARS FOR THEE My country tears for thee Land that was liberty For thee we pray.
Land of the pilgrims' pride Three lances pierced thy side - Now crumbled lay. Two towers bold
and tall Our planes did make them fall This fateful day. New York and Washington Felt blows
almost as one Someone must pay. Terrorists did this with ease Brought down on bloody knees So
like Our Lord. Thorns, spear and crucified Forgave us , then He died With one accord. America,
please listen up Crist's given us His cup And "thunder "- roared. We too will rise from
this Another Judas with a kiss Infamy again. So many died today For each one now we pray
God help us all. Amen. ....................... Dedicated to my son Jim Abadie active at Ground
Hero.since Sept 11, 2001 Please keep Jim and all the emergency workers in your prayers. Thanks Rita
